“Freelancing is Unstable.”

I often hear people complain that freelancing (or entrepreneurship in general actually) is “unstable".”

So I am taking the opportunity to share what it freelancing has been like for me:

This flow of work is a regular occurrence.

I had so much work back then that I had lists of projects each week that I needed to prioritize, but as you'll notice ... it just says "due tomorrow."

I have had the freedom to choose when I work, without tying myself to a clock, but there has never been a lack of work waiting to be done for over 15 years.

And even though I was questioning how I was going to "manage" everything and get it done by the deadline, I worked maybe 20 hours a week while I still got paid more than my full-time income from my previous job.

I had eggs in several baskets...not just one.

A job is having all your eggs in one basket...knowing that basket can crush all your eggs with one pink slip.

So I guess I need to turn that question on its head and ask, “How is a job MORE stable than freelancing???”

It IS possible to have stability and predictability in a business if you set it up the right way.
