A few times a week I (Nicole) drive past the building where I attended a cult.

It took me a long time to actually understand and admit that I had been in a cult. When I finally did, I understood why leaving that “church” was so hard. It’s insidious. It’s not what they overtly said, but what they implied and hinted at. It was a subtle creep into my soul.

These are two of the most common excuses we see for why people talk themselves out of freelancing and having a life they truly want to live.

But then...we see them SELLING the multilevel network marketing products…

I don’t know what it is about fall that has got me reflective.

Maybe it’s the golden leaves lazily floating to the ground in the dappled late afternoon sun…

It seems that the number one question we get here is “But WHERE do you find clients???”

What they don’t realize is that they aren’t asking the right question about working at home as a freelancer…

When I was young I didn’t like to be told what to do.

(Who do I think I am I kidding? I STILL don’t like to be told what to do!)

And I have a distinct memory of being at home and my mom telling me to sit down while she was talking to me…

You won’t ever be good enough for some people.

Don’t let that stop you from trying it anyway.
